Our Team

Ronald Black

Ronald Black, L.C.S.W.

President and CEO

Ron earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii and his graduate degree from Florida International University where he received the Excellence in the Field Award in 1989. He holds an active license in the state of Florida and has been board certified as a clinical supervisor for social work, mental health and marriage and family therapy. He has over 24 years of clinical experience in the field. In addition, he has over 12 years of administrative experience and has developed supervision and training programs for graduate students and interns from a wide array of disciplines, including social work, counseling and nursing. He has served as an adjunct professor and as a clinical instructor for numerous local universities. He has practical experience in agency administration, JACHO and CARF accreditation, training and development, substance abuse and intensive couples counseling.

Toni DiDona, Ph.D., L.C.S.W.

Vice President and Director of Continuing Education

Toni earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and both her M.S.W. and Ph.D. degrees from Florida International University where she received the Academic Excellence Award in 1989. She holds an active license in the state of Florida and has been board certified as a clinical supervisor for social work, mental health and marriage and family therapy. She has over 27 years of experience in the field, including clinical work, teaching and administration in mental health settings. She has over 8 years of full time teaching experience and has taught at both the graduate and undergraduate level at 4 major universities in the south Florida area. She has practical experience in accreditation for CARF, JCAHO and MSA. She has experience in training and development, child and adolescent therapy, special medial populations including HIV, SED children and head injury. She also currently teaches at CAU, where she was awarded the Distinguish Professor of the Year in 2007.

Richard Zonderman, Ph.D.

Vice President and Director of Continuing Education

Richard earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburg and both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Richard has over 38 years of experience in the field. He holds licensure in both Virginia and Florida as a psychologist. He has extensive experience in both the clinical arena as well as administration. Most notably he served as the Chief Assessor for the Federal Government’s Program on Creative Leadership, a program required for promotion in many federal agencies. Richard has also served as an adjunct professor, teaching at two universities.

Linda Milano, A.R.N.P., M.S.N.

Consulting Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner

Linda completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing at Florida International University. She has over 20 years of nursing experience and has held hospital credentials at numerous hospitals. She has served as a nursing educator both at universities and at organizations in which she was responsible for the continuing education of the nursing staff. She is currently the CEO and owner of Psych Pro, Inc., a psychiatric mental health nursing organization.

Tania Diaz, Psy.D.

Advisory Board

Tania completed her Bachelor’s degree from Nova University, and went on to earn her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University. She has over 18 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She is dual licensed and is a designated qualified supervisor in the state of Florida. She completed her internship at the Miami Children’s Hospital providing individual, group and family therapy to children and adolescence suffering from post traumatic stress disorders, attention deficit, psychosis, and mood disorders. Moreover, she is well versed in both psychological and academic evaluations. Tania is currently the President of the Comprehensive Assessment Center, Inc. an agency which provides individual, family and couples therapy in addition to neuropsychological and psychoeducational testing.

Francisco Martinez-Mesa, M.D., Psy.D.

Advisory Board

Frank earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Health Sciences, in Antigua. He earned his Psy.D. degree from Carlos Albizu University. Frank has over 10 years of experience in the field of psychology and has served as director and faculty member for the undergraduate program at CAU. He also serves as a clinical supervisor for the Goodman Psychological Services Center in Miami, Florida.

Edward B. Heyden, Ed.D.

Advisory Board

Ed earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and his Ed.D. degree from the University of Virginia. Ed has over 20 years of clinical experience and is a Fellow and Diplomate from the America College of Forensic Examiners. Ed has held licensure in two states and has served as faculty at five universities at the graduate and undergraduate level. Ed currently serves as an associate professor and program coordinator at CAU.

Beth F. Philley, M.A.

Contributing Author/Item Writer

Beth completed her undergraduate degree at Kent State University and her Master’s degree at Antioch University. Beth has over 20 years of experience in the business world and especially skilled in training, coaching and writing. She specializes in writing website copy, blogs, text books, e-books, and articles for publication. In addition, Beth provides group or one-on-one training in such fields as safety, diversity, attitude, motivation, time-management, communication, marketing, and employee discipline. She is currently serving as the President of Professional Business Associates.

Cancellation and Refunds

Our cancellation and refund policy for courses purchased at our website is that participants have 5 business days from the date of purchase to request a refund for any course not completed. Our cancellation and refund policy for live presentations is that cancellations must be made at least three weeks in advance and be in writing for a refund. No refunds are available for late cancellations and all refunds are subject to an administration fee. Please note that the cancellation and refund process for presentations we co-sponsor may be different. Specific information may be obtained at the co-sponsor’s website and/or the course description page on our website.

Homestudy

Most of our online courses can be completed as Homestudy Courses for an additional fee of $35 to $75 per course. Homestudy courses include the course material, exam and evaluation survey sent to participants. After completing the exam and the survey, participants send these forms back. Certificates are sent back after passing the exam with a score of 75% or better. Please contact us for additional information and payment methods.

Complaints and Grievances

All complaints and grievances are reviewed within 5 working days. Formal grievances are required to be written, and will be responded to within 10 business days.
