In-Person location: Montego Bay, Jamaica
DBT skills can transform your clinical work—whether or not you’re a DBT therapist. This training is ideal for clinicians ready to pursue full DBT certification and for generalist therapists looking to integrate practical, evidence-based tools into their everyday sessions. You’ll get a deep dive into the four core DBT skill modules—Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness—alongside guidance on how to adapt them flexibly across a wide range of client presentations.
Led by DBT expert Casey Limmer, MSW, LCSW, DBT-LBC, this experiential workshop blends practical training with space for reflection and application. Rather than overwhelming you with jargon or rigid protocols, this training focuses on helping you become a more confident and effective clinician. You’ll explore how to teach these skills with clarity, troubleshoot common client obstacles, and develop your own style for integrating DBT techniques into both structured and eclectic treatment approaches.
You’ll also gain tools for your own emotional awareness and resilience. Each session includes mindfulness practice, interactive skill-building exercises, and opportunities for real-time application. With space to slow down and reflect between sessions, you’ll have natural opportunities to observe your own emotional responses, practice regulation skills in everyday moments, and experiment with new ways of engaging—both personally and professionally—all while in vacation mode, exploring the local culture and recharging poolside.
Come away with a skill set that’s as versatile as it is powerful. Whether you’re seeking full DBT proficiency or simply want to enhance your clinical toolbox, this workshop offers an energizing and deeply practical experience. You’ll leave with strategies you can use immediately—and a renewed sense of clarity, both professionally and personally.
