OnDemand Advanced course reviewing basic EMDR treatment planning and advanced strategies to develop treatment plans depending on a variety of client factors and complex cases. Good treatment planning keeps the therapist from stalling therapy process and allows both therapist and client to see clear progress.
Go with what?”: Essential EMDR Therapy Treatment Planning is an advanced course for those who have completed an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training program.
Treatment planning is notoriously one of the more challenging pieces of EMDR Therapy. EMDR therapists are taught how to create treatment plans during their basic training, where they receive a deluge of other information. Treatment planning is a small component of the basic training and often not revisited in-depth in advanced training. Specific training in treatment planning helps the therapist from becoming lost during the EMDR therapy process.
This six-hour online training will begin at the basics and progress through strategies to develop a treatment plan depending on a variety of client factors. We will review how to create single-incident treatment plans to develop plans for complex cases that, when they go off track, often stall the therapy process and can leave the therapist and client wondering if progress is being made, which may lead to frustration and premature termination of EMDR therapy.
The main goal of this training is to utilize effective treatment planning skills throughout the EMDR therapy process and increase therapist confidence in handling even the most complicated cases. This training will help the therapist feel assured in their abilities to move every client through the EMDR therapy process and no longer ask, “Go with what?”
