Course Description:
This course is an updated Clinical Practice Guideline containing objective, evidence-based information on the management of pregnancy. It is intended to support healthcare providers in all aspects of care for pregnant women. Information is presented to assist in the assessment of the mother and baby, allowing determination of the best management method in collaboration with the mother, other family members, and caregivers. It is expected that those who follow this CPG will optimize mother and baby health outcomes and improve quality of life, minimizing preventable complications and morbidity. The course emphasizes the use of patient-centered care.
This course is based upon material published by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, and is available as an open access article.
This course on pregnancy management is designed for professionals in obstetric practice who do clinical work. This course is appropriate for beginning, intermediate and advanced level practitioners who wish to develop their understanding of pregnancy practice guidelines The course material includes a review of standards of patient-centered care. It may also be useful for licensed clinicians who require clinical continuing education courses for license renewal.
