Course Description: This course examines the essential role of wellness promotion in supporting individuals in addiction recovery. Drawing on SAMHSAs eight dimensions of wellness—physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, environmental, occupational, and financial—participants will explore how each dimension contributes to long-term recovery outcomes. The course addresses practical strategies for integrating wellness principles into clinical practice, including individualized wellness planning, SMART goal-setting, and trauma-informed approaches. Special attention is given to co-occurring mental health disorders, cultural sensitivity, and the role of therapy and medication in comprehensive care. Clinicians will gain tools to assess client needs across all wellness domains and develop tailored recovery support plans that promote holistic well-being and reduce the risk of relapse.

This course on promoting wellness in clients served is designed for employees and staff. This course is appropriate for beginning practitioners who wish to learn about how to promote wellness with their clients. This course does not offer any CEs.
