Course Description:
This course is based on a publication by the National Institute of Mental Health that is about Men and Depression; it is available as an open-access article on the NIMH website. This is a detailed article and booklet that describes the types of depression, together with it’s relation to males of all ages including youths, adolescents and elderly men. The article also includes discussion on causes and treatments of depression in men and how it may differ than depression in women. This publication is an excellent primer for the mental health professional and provides the practitioner with specific information about the differences in depression in men compared to women. The course is targeted for beginning practitioners. Behavioral health professionals and addiction professionals can benefit from this course.
