Course Description:
This continuing education course provides an in-depth review of evidence-based strategies to prevent intimate partner violence (IPV) using a public health framework. Drawing from the CDC’s IPV Prevention Resource for Action, participants will examine risk and protective factors across the socioecological model, primary prevention strategies, policy and environmental approaches, cross-sector collaboration, and the integration of health equity principles. Emphasis is placed on implementation, evaluation, and measurable outcomes to reduce the incidence and impact of IPV in healthcare and community settings.
This course is appropriate for intermediate and advanced-level practitioners who wish to learn more about intimate partner violence. It is also a good resource for licensed therapists who need IPV continuing education for license renewal.

Learning Objectives: This course will provide a professional with detailed information about domestic violence. Specifically, the practitioner will:
- Identify at least four risk and protective factors for intimate partner violence across the socioecological model.
- Differentiate primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention strategies in IPV prevention.
- Describe at least five evidence-based strategies recommended to prevent intimate partner violence.
- Identify policy, systems, and environmental approaches that reduce IPV risk in healthcare and community settings.
