Course Description

This one day specialty training addresses the use of EMDR with Veterans who may be suffering from combat trauma or PTSD.  The course assists clinicians who do not work regularly with the military in understanding the culture and the special treatment considerations for this group. This training is for clinicians who have completed EMDR basic training.

 

Learning Objectives:  This course will provide the practitioner with detailed information regarding treating combat veterans with EMDR.  Specifically, a professional will: 

  1. Recognize the culture of the US Military including values, language and organizational structure. 
  2. Identify the effects of combat on veterans. 
  3. Apply EMDR clinical skills with veterans including the eight phase protocol.
