Acute Traumatic Incident Processing (A-TIP) utilizes bilateral eye movements to help desensitize the survivor to the traumatic event to the point where talking about it may be of help.  Research has shown that bilateral eye movements rapidly diminish the vividness of images and the strong emotions/physical sensations associated with a traumatic event.

Presenter Bio:
Paula has over 27 years of experience in the mental health field.  She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) certified provider and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA) approved consultant.  She has worked in both community mental health and private practice.  She specializes in the treatment of trauma-related disturbances.
