Providers of mental health services are at risk of Burnout Syndrome. This course teaches mental health providers how to recognize in themselves and colleagues the symptoms of Burnout, how the syndrome affects a clinician’s ability to provide care, how Burnout is treated and prophylactic measures that may be taken to prevent the syndrome.

Presenter Bio:
Dr. Hervey  earned a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of South Florida College of Medicine and has a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. From 1991 to 1993 he served as the Confidential        Assistant to the United States Secretary of Commerce.  Currently, Dr. Hervey is the Chief Medical Officer and Owner of Advantage Mental Health Center in Clearwater. He is an Associate Professor at USF Department of Psychiatry and is a Staff Psychiatrist at James A. Haley Veterans Administration in Tampa. In 2011 he earned the coveted John E. Turlich MD Award for Outstanding Teaching    Resident, as well as the Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award from The Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Dr. Hervey is also a successful author and has     published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
