Two-ââ¬ÂDay Experiential Practicum for Fundamentals of Treating Relational Trauma
Chatham, New Jersey
November 17-18, 2017,8:30-6:30
This small group workshop is intended for licensed counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and marriage and family therapists who have completed at least the first training in the series, Fundamentals of Treating Relational Trauma or other training in PIa Mellody’s Post Induction Therapy for treating relational trauma. This is a largely experiential workshop and participants will share and use their own family history and experiences to gain an in depth understanding of how to apply this work in their lives and with the clients they treat. The training will be conducted as part seminar and part intensive trauma healing workshop. Each trainee will adopt the role of participant and will be guided through the processes of Identifying and Embracing the Truth (“debriefing”), Repairing the Relationship to Self (“inner child work”) and Embodying Our Power (“feelings reduction work”) using their personal history. As a group of colleagues, we will discuss and explore how the pieces fit together and te decision-making processes used by the trainer in the role of the therapist. Each participant will have a much clearer understanding of their own story in the context of this trauma healing model as well as how to use this approach in the clinical setting. The educational aspects of the model covered in Fundamentals of Treating Relational Trauma (including maintaining balance in the Core Issues and steps towards living from the functional adult self) will be utilized and applied to each trainee’s circumstances during this training.
