This recorded webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the main ethical issues facing Behavioral Therapists in the twenty first century. Strategies for avoiding problems will be presented. This webinar helps clinicians understand the process of developing a sense of ethics with our field and goes on to identify common areas for ethical mistakes and dilemmas. The webinar is easy to follow and provides excellent case examples. This webinar also identifies common rationalizations that clinicians make when acting in an unethical manner.
Intended Audience: Psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists can benefit from this course. This course may also be helpful for other practitioners, such as midwives, dieticians and nutritionists who also need continuing education in the area of ethics and who need to practice the principle of confidentiality. Most states that require continuing education courses for licensed professionals require ethcis courses. This course is appropriate for beginning and intermediate level practitioners who wish to learn about ethics, confidentiality and legal issues
Presenter Bio: Ronald Black, L.C.S.W.
Ron earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii and his graduate degree from Florida International University where he received the Excellence in the Field Award in 1989. He holds an active license in the state of Florida and has been board certified as a clinical supervisor for social work, mental health and marriage and family therapy. He has over 24 years of clinical experience in the field. In addition, he has over 12 years of administrative experience and has developed supervision and training programs for graduate students and interns from a wide array of disciplines, including social work, counseling and nursing. He has served as an adjunct professor and as a clinical instructor for numerous local universities. He has practical experience in agency administration, JACHO and CARF accreditation, training and development, substance abuse and intensive couples counseling.
Certificates will be awarded after the entire (one hour) webinar has been completed, a quiz has been completed and the evaluation has been submitted.
