Course Description:
Caring for those during emotional, stressful and sometimes catastrophic events can quickly result in personal and professional burnout if left unattended. Learn the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue in oneself and in others, and how to design a self-care plan that enhances and enhances quality of life and professional satisfaction.
 
 
Workshop Objectives:
1.     Participants will learn to recognize the presence and impact of primary, secondary and vicarious traumatization which can lead to compassion fatigue if left unaddressed.
2.     Participants will learn to identify and assess the variables that increase personal risk for burnout, and determine when it is interfering with overall self-care and provision of client care.
3.     Participants will be able to design a personal plan for avoiding burnout personally and professionally.
